FEI
WORLD PARA DRESSAGE CHAMPIONSHIPS
at
Hartpury College, Gloucestershire, United Kingdom
18
– 22 July 2007
Dear
Sir / Madam,
As
you may be aware, 2007 will see the first World Para Dressage Championships
under the new governance of the FEI. These Championships will take place on 18
to 22 July 2007 at Hartpury College in Gloucestershire, England. All National
Federations will be invited to participate and the official FEI Schedule will be
available in the New Year. This letter is designed to give advance warning in
order to assist NF’s with planning.
A
copy of the provisional timetable is attached, but please note, this is
provisional and subject to change at the discretion of the Organising Committee.
Regular updates will be posted on the event website at www.hartpury.ac.uk/wpdc
Hartpury
College has a wealth of experience in running major equestrian competition,
having been the venue for the following:
·
1994 World Championships for Disabled Riders
·
1997 FEI European Pony Championships
·
2000 FEI European Young Rider Championships
·
Annual International Festival of Dressage (CDI3* and CPDI3*)
·
Annual International Horse Trials (CCI*, CCI** and CIC***)
·
Annual National Riding for the Disabled Championships – Great Britain
The
facilities at the college are extensive and mean that all accredited team
members will be housed on-site at the venue. Horses will be stabled at the venue
in quality permanent stables, with access to a wide range of facilities. Bedroom
accommodation is within a short walk of the equestrian centre, and the OC hope
to provide each team with a motorised golf buggy. Therefore, teams will not have
to rely on having vehicles during the Championships. Details regarding
facilities can be found on the event website.
Hartpury
College is delighted to be able to open a new International Indoor Arena,
specially built for the Championships. This will include a 70 x 40 metre
competition arena, a 35 x 20 metre holding arena, seating for over 600
spectators, a panoramic restaurant, bar and hospitality boxes. The arena has
been designed to be fully accessible and should provide an excellent home for
the Championships. Details and pictures can be viewed at http://www.hartpury.ac.uk/equine/indoor_arena/
The
Championships will be organised in accordance with current FEI Statutes, General
Regulations, Veterinary Regulations and Para Equestrian Rules. Please note –
all horses will require FEI passports and will have to satisfy FEI veterinary
regulations in respect to vaccinations. Please refer to the FEI website for
further information – www.horsesport.org
Entry
fees for the Championships will be as follows:
Entry
Fee to include accommodation, food and airport transfer
£600
Stabling
(straw, shavings or empty boxes available)
£25 / night
Accredited team member to include accommodation, food and airport transfer £400
The
venue will open for the arrival of horses and competitors from midday on Monday
16 July 2007. We apologise that the venue will not be accessible prior to this
date due to being the venue for the National Riding for the Disabled
Championships the weekend before. However, a small number of places are
available for training camps prior to the RDA Championships. Bedrooms and
stables are available on a first come, first served basis. Training will not be
allowed in any competition arena, but alternative facilities will be made
available. Training camps will be available from 28 June to 11 July. For further
details or bookings please contact the Organisers.
The
venue is located approximately 171km west of
